Samsung has launched the fifth beta of One UI 8 to fix an issue that users have dubbed "Purple Moon," which appeared in photos taken with Space Zoom on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The bug was causing the moon to turn purple at zoom levels from 10x to 100x, due to a bug in the fourth beta's zoom processing algorithms. The issue sparked complaints from users on the forums, the existence of the bug was confirmed and the company promised to fix it quickly.
The fifth beta (ZYH6) included restoring natural colors to photos, as well as a security patch for August 2025,improving the stability of nine system functions, and fixing Wi-Fi and Air Command disconnection issues for the S Pen. The update will roll out in regions including India, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States, with a size of about 1.78 GB. The fix gives users a better and more accurate astrophotography experience, while benefiting from extensive system and security improvements.
