Elon Musk has announced that the Grok 2.5 artificial intelligence model developed by his company xAI is now open source. This gives researchers and developers access to the model's code, allowing them to develop and improve it. Grok was similar to ChatGPT, allowing users to interact via questions, text, and data analysis, and is integrated into the xAI platform.
Musk added that the latest version of the model, Grok 3, will be available as open source within six months. The move aims to make AI more accessible and interactive with developers. xAI also announced that Grok will be freely available to all users across the xAI platform.
Since its launch last August, Grok has been available exclusively to X Premium users, but in December a free version of the service was made available, allowing more people to take advantage of the tool. Through Grok.com, users can choose multiple modes of using the form, such as intensive web search.
