OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank announce 5 new “Stargate” hubs
On September 24, 2025, OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank revealed five new U.S. data center sites for their “Stargate” AI infrastructure project. Combined with the Abilene, Texas hub and other projects, capacity is planned to reach about 7 GW, with investments estimated at $400–500 billion. Goal: deliver massive compute for training and running future AI models. Expected impact: boost U.S. AI leadership, enable faster model development, and create new jobs and supply chains.
