AI doing up to 50% of work at Salesforce: CEO Marc Benioff .

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff shared in a recent Bloomberg interview that artificial intelligence is now handling between 30% and 50% of tasks at the company. This trend isn’t unique to Salesforce—leaders from other major tech firms, such as Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and Google’s Sundar Pichai, have also acknowledged that AI plays a key role in performing substantial parts of jobs like software development.

Benioff emphasized the broader implications, saying, “We all need to adjust to the reality that AI is taking over tasks we used to do ourselves. That frees us to focus on more strategic, high-value responsibilities.”

When asked by Bloomberg’s Emily Chang whether he thought AI might eventually replace his own role, Benioff responded with a touch of humor: “Hopefully! I’m only half-joking. But the truth is, automation is advancing quickly.”

Bloomberg also noted that Salesforce has already laid off more than 1,000 workers this year. While some of those affected may transition into new positions, such widespread downsizing is becoming more common across the industry as businesses increasingly rely on AI technologies.
